LOLLL at least everyones paying attention.

I think if you didn't like drake in the beginning you have no choice but to feel da kid now. More times than not he keeps it 100, makes good music, and is on top of the world. I still think he should have established something here for local artists to atleast LEARN about the business so that they don't keep expecting shit to fall in their laps but he don't owe nobody nothing. ALL OF US were laughing at drake when he started, very few showed love, fuck he owe us? lolll

Do u drizzy, soon see u there.

#StartedFromTheBottom AND I'M STILL FUCKIN HERE NIGGA LOLLL

@12 & 13 - y'all have missed the point. Here's the deal, it's been about 3-4 years since Drake blew and yet not one rapper has even gone as far as to have A LOCAL HIT! But yet people somehow people expect Drake to somehow parachute in and save everyone like he is Jesus or something. What "Gway" said is true, if you you are talented and have mass appeal AND CONSISTENT PRODUCT you can make it and the liklihood of Drake backing you up is higher (and it is still not guaranteed). I would have thought that by Drake blowing up that every rapper in the city would have been motivated to work harder and put out their best possible product but yet it has been the same old uninspiring trap music crap and a bunch of bitter rappers looking for hand outs. It's likethe kid that gets a brand new laptop from his parents for Xmas and is upset and bitter because he really wanted a car. Canada - where you can get free gov't grants for your videos and crtc regulations that force 33% Canadian radio content but yet rappers are so hard done by because Drake didn't sprinkle magic dust on them so they an be famous too - fu#k out here

#24 WHATEVS..... 2013-02-16 23:56
He's made better trax def not his best work hes way more talented than that. But i still rate him for da Shoppers Drugmart piece HUGE if u ask me, but he need to work wit some artist from the city thats a must.

#23 Well not really 2013-02-16 05:08
Remember, Drake could have gone and claimed Houston through his father and forget the whole Canada and Toronto repping completely.

#22 What? 2013-02-15 23:55
@!-2 - You talk a lot about respect. At the end of the day it's entertainment/art which is nothing more than an imitation of life anyway and your a person behind a computer dictating how somebody you have never met before should act - how can that be respected? It's really a foolish argument to get into. I mean, my man - you have gone as low as watching another mans facial expressions and allowing it to affect this much...strange really.

yall some simple ass minded people. everyone starts from a bottom. some bottoms just look better then others. drake wasnt born with a rap contract he worked on his flow and lyrics and made the right moves to get to where he is. lets face it we live in canada! we dont know struggle...the ones talking struggle are just to fu$king lazy to get up and do anything. go to the middle east or africa. now THATS a struggle. THATS a sh#tty place to start your life.

like someone else said, its a business. youre not going to be put on if youre still rapping about catching bodies and all that hood sh#t. this is about making money not who is the hardest. and lets be real who buys the music? girls. girls arent buying music to hear about guns and killings.

theres a world outside of your little hoods and a lot of you gotta start learning how shit works. or else yall going to be day dreaming about a lambo. and thinking your rich WITH A LOUIE BELT AND A COUPLE STACKS. THAT AINT SH#T!

#13 He aint signing none of those artist you named cause they cant write songs for the radio! Niggaz need to start looking at it from a business stand point and not the entitlement "we from the same city" mentality. If you cant sell records you aint getting on and quite frankly none of them have radio joints out now in the city. He signing people that are gona bring profits to his label.

#19 !-2 2013-02-14 22:51
Who cares if he admitted where he came from, he has no choice fool!!! We already know, how much worst would he look lying????
Doesn't mean he should be rapping about "catching bodies" " your hood ain't hood enough", making all these funny faces like he's hard. It has nothing to do with that.
One of my favorite rappers out and actually more talented then Drake is Childish Gambino, he's as white washed and as nerdy as they come, I respect that, I respect who he is. He raps about things he can relate too.
Drake gets gassed off the other artists he works with. Don't you see how happy he gets when Ross comes through, looks like pedofile in a church.

i seee u tony

#17 Um yeah? 2013-02-14 07:54
You gotta love the people that feel because a rapper from our city blows up that some how the same rapper is now responsible to bring every low level street rapper through the door just because they are from the same city lol what part of the game is that??? the level of entitlement is unreal - maybe the reason why your rap career hasn't blown up is bcuz only ur friends listen to ur music. Remember D-12 even Eminem couldn't make that work lol

You all live in modern societies. None of you are from the bottom. In this song the bottom is wherever you say it was. Carry on...

#14 What? 2013-02-13 20:02
@!-2 - There is always one of you in every crowd. Just needs to pick at something can't just be happy for someones success. First off, everything from his life story, lyrics and this video has been authentic. This video is the realest video he has ever put out - him and his true friends busting jokes and having good times repping TO in everything he does. What is not real? There is even a shot of him in his Forest Hill neighborhood. Like Drake said "story never changed". I would actually go as far as saying Drake is one of the realest out especially when before he came out for the last 20 years if you weren't coming straight from the street/hood no one would rate you. For him to come out and NOT hide the fact that he grew up in Forrest Hill, Degrassi, not from the street etc. that takes true courage to go against the norm and stand on your on 2 feet. It's been said a million times 99% of these so called "hard" or "street" rappers never lived that life anyways. Besides, Drake is now one of the strongest forces/paid talents in Hip Hop - you don't think he could crush the hardest rapper you know like a bug - the kid is a boss worth tens of millions - that's HARD! U can't enjoy Pacino in Scarface because Pacino didn't really live that life? It's entertainment bro - let it go. BTW - I don't think Drake needs to worry about who or how he is respected and when did he ever say he "started at the bottom of life". Dude! time to put the spliff down and go back to cigarettes :P

Eazyano,P Dollaz,Sic Thugz,C4,Corey Fila,IMG,Pyrex,Gilla,Sha Hustle,K Sizzle,Crooked Letter,A2H,ABK,Marxmen,Camo and a few more artists,they keep the music sh#t runnin in this city.Just some artists that Drake should consider workin with.THATS A GOOD FU#KIN LOOK!!

#12 SouthSider 2013-02-13 19:24
Good look for Drake, but not the city.Anybody that gets on closes the door behind them, shutting other potential stars out.comment #7 also has a good point.Any other city in the world with a top rapper, they usually still work with up and coming artists. The underdog has a better look, and the top artist remains on top,but with more RESPECT.

Yo Pstain? don't you think that if you where somewhat talented that Drake would have put you on? Do you think he doesn't have the power to put you on a track or co-sign you...lol

#6 !-2 2013-02-12 22:11
@ #4 actually from Forest Hill, even more wealthy...lol

This guy started from what's probably in the top 3 richest parts of Toronto, Forest Hill...I really don't understand what he means by that. Man wants to hard to bad, just be you dog, trust me you'll get wayyyyyyyyyyy more respect being you, instead of talking about crews not being hard, and catching bodies like that...

I understand u started from the bottom of the music industry, yea for sure, but not the bottom in life.
You're house if Forest Mill is worth like a mill
