New to FACTOR? Want to know how to apply for funding? There’s a few things you’ll need to know before you can begin an Application.
Who Is Eligible For FACTOR Funding?
FACTOR primarily supports Canadian musicians (as individual artists or bands) to record and produce primarily English-language, independent sound recordings nationally and internationally.
Through FACTOR’s numerous Programs and Components, artists can receive financial assistance to record an album, market and promote an existing album, help with tour and showcase costs, or to produce a video. FACTOR funding is meant to help support projects – not pay for them entirely. It is expected that applicants will use FACTOR funding to supplement existing project funding.
Other members of the Canadian music industry can also apply for FACTOR funding, like music companies, record labels, distributors, and individuals or organizations who would like to produce industry-oriented conferences, workshops, showcases, etc.
FACTOR funding is only available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and Canadian companies and corporations. If more than 50% of band or organization is Canadian, you are eligible to apply to FACTOR.
