Apply Now For CBC Toronto Song In The 6ix Contest
January 19, 2016
Do you compose and perform original music? Regardless of your genre or experience, this contest could put you on the map. It all starts with creating a song about this wonderful city of ours.
Submissions are open from Jan.18- Feb. 19 2016.
Drake has penned many anthems for The 6; now it’s your turn
Whether you’re full time musician or music is your passion project, Song in the 6ix is open to everyone. And the stakes are high: $10,000, and CBC-produced music video!
To enter, write an original song about Toronto and record a video of yourself performing it. Why do you love our city? Why should other people visit? This is both an anthem and a love letter to Toronto. Be sure to include “The 6ix” or “Song in the 6ix” in your lyrics, with the option of making reference to CBC Toronto or any of our CBC Toronto hosts.
The public will vote on all videos submitted to determine the 6 finalists. A CBC jury will then select a winner.
For more details on entering, check out the rules and regulations.
